Policies and Procedures
Welcome to ProPilotWorld. As with any website, there are rules
governing its use and we ask that you please read our rules.
In keeping with treating you with the respect you deserve while
maintaining the integrity of the forums, our rules are simple:
Access
Access to ProPilotWorld.com Forums is restricted to persons
holding a Commercial Pilot Certificate or higher (Professional
Flight Engineers, Air Traffic Control Specialists and Licensed
Dispatchers accepted as well). For full access to
ProPilotWorld.com Forums, you will be required to give your full
name during registration, which will be used to verify
Certificates and Ratings as published in the FAA Airman
Certification Registry. The full name will be also be
cross-referenced with the payment method to verify identity. Only
the Administrators (2) will have access to a member's full name; NO
Forum Leader or general member will have access to this information.
It is ONLY used to verify membership eligibility. (If
Certificates/Ratings cannot be verified by the FAA Airman
Certification Registry, an alternate method of verification will be
offered via mail.)
Policies
ProPilotWorld.com reserves the right to edit or remove any post that
is deemed to violate either of the above rules. If an Administrator
or Forum Leader has to take action regarding a post, he/she will
inform the post's author in a collegial and respectful manner via
Private Message of the action taken and the reason. The decision of
the Forum Leaders or Administrators is final.
There is no automatic language censor, anything that you wish to say
will be displayed. With this freedom, however, comes a certain
responsibility. Just because you can say anything doesn't mean you
should. If there is a point that you are making and nothing but the
use of a good expletive will suffice, use it. That being said,
please use them sparingly so that their impact is retained- and
please, do not use them directed at another member, nor ask another
member to perform something which is anatomically impossible or
socially unacceptable. Also, while we embrace (as often as possible)
the feminine form, we ask that avatars steer clear of provocative
images. Fair enough?
There is no Penalty Box. Members who choose not to abide by the few
rules and policies outlined here, and continue to disobey the rules
will be denied access to ProPilotWorld.com and their membership
revoked. Membership fees are not refundable, and further access will
denied for a period of six months following revocation. Memberships
are based on real names, not usernames, and are controlled
accordingly. Any membership obtained with falsified registration
information will be terminated without refund.
ProPilotWorld.com staff encourages the free flow of information and
dialogue. We encourage members to treat other members with respect,
even though they may be in disagreement. We encourage all
participants to keep posts on-topic and civil, within the sometimes
irreverent context of professional pilots.
Privacy Notice
All registration information shall be held in strictest confidence.
Absolutely no personal information will be given to any individual
or agency without the express written consent of the registered
member. No cross-marketing of information regarding members of
ProPilotWorld.com, either specific or general in nature, will be
distributed to any commercial or governmental entity. Members will
be held responsible for what occurs using their account. Each member
is responsible for ensuring the security of his/her own account, and
will be held accountable for how the account is used. Usernames and
passwords should be kept private. The membership is for the
exclusive use of the member - - not friends, family, and crashpad
mates. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in membership
cancellation.
Thank you for reading these rules and policies. We have kept them
brief and simple, because that's all we need to say in order to keep
the forums entertaining, productive, and useful. Your cooperation is
greatly appreciated.
